Welcome to InTandem Music Therapy

Building lasting relationships with music.

Offering individual music therapy & adaptive instrument lessons for children and teens. Sessions are personalized, relational, and grounded in each young person’s strengths and interests. We focus on building confidence & emotional awareness as well as fostering a sustainable relationship to music that extends into other areas of their lives.

The Story Behind the Name

“In Tandem” means side by side. Healing, growth, and learning aren’t things done to people — they’re things we build with them.

Our Approach: Relational Learning in Action

Relational learning means working alongside each client to build trust, understanding, and shared meaning—rather than relying on one-size-fits-all methods or forcing compliance.

Each session is tailored to fit the client’s needs and preferences. Some sessions are structured and focus on building specific skills, while others are more open and playful, exploring music as a way to express feelings and ideas. Both approaches are equally valid and chosen based on what best supports the client’s growth.

Our mission is to empower every client to engage deeply with their learning, to feel capable and in control of their education and growth, and to build a foundation for a confident, self-directed life.

Who We Work With

InTandem offers support that centres each client’s emotional world, learning needs, and personal growth. We specialize in working with children, youth, and adults who benefit from approaches that honour their strengths, differences, and ways of being.

We’re especially passionate about supporting neurodivergent clients and those who experience systemic barriers. Our experience includes working with people navigating:
