For Private Practice Clients
InTandem Music Therapy is committed to transparency and justice in our fees. We believe in clear, upfront communication about the costs of music therapy to ensure there are no surprises. Below is a table of service rates informed by guidelines from the Music Therapy Association of BC (click here for details).
My rates are higher than the MTABC recommended range because they reflect the true costs of providing sustainable, high-quality care within a system that often undervalues this work. Administrative expenses, shared space fees, and the need to maintain a practice that supports fair compensation all factor in. Charging these rates allows me to continue serving clients with the time, attention, and respect they deserve, without risking burnout or compromising the quality of care. At the same time, I recognize that financial barriers are real and rooted in systemic inequities. To address this, I offer sliding scale options, typically between $75–$125 per session, to increase accessibility. If the standard fees pose a barrier, please reach out so we can find a rate that honours your circumstances.

| Individual Adaptive Music Lessons | A more focused type of music therapy session where adaptive lessons address individualized goals through the learning of an instrument. Lessons often focus on confidence, fine motor control, attention/focus, and expression. Lessons are currently offered with Voice, Piano, Guitar, Drumkit, and Ukulele. | 45 mins | $160.00 | 60 mins | $180.00 |
| Educational Consulting | Support for parents, educators, and teams working with neurodivergent learners. This may include strategy sessions, classroom or IEP recommendations, advocacy support, or guidance on creating inclusive, strengths-based learning environments. | 45 mins | $160.00 | 60 mins | $180.00 |
| Specialized Academic Support | Individualized support for kids and teens navigating schoolwork and the bigger questions that come with growing up — like right and wrong, relationships, and self-understanding. Sessions blend academic help with emotional and cognitive support, all grounded in a flexible, relational approach. Micaela also specializes in facilitating accessible sex education for neurodivergent teens that includes discussions around consent and boundaries, an area often not well-supported for neurodivergent youth. | 45 mins | $160.00 | 60 mins | $180.00 |
| Cancellations | Cancellations with less than 24-hour notice will be charged a cancellation fee of the same value as one session. Emergency cancellations happen and fee-waiving will always be considered on a case-by-case basis. |
For Organizations
Due to the diverse needs of organizations, fees will be discussed on an individual basis. According to MTABC’s guidelines, contract fees vary from $60-100 per clinical hour. Please contact us for further information.
